Bead beater ideal for lysing, extraction, or homogenization applications, utilizing an aggressive vertical mixing motion. Supplied with holders to hold vertically 12 microtubes (1.5 or 2.0ml), 6 15ml tubes, or 3 50ml tubes, and 12 microtubes (1.5 or 2.0ml) horizontally. Beads are also available and sold separately for complete bead beating solution. The Bead Genie, built in the USA, is compact compared to most bead beaters and homogenizers, yet heavy and durable.
The BeadBlaster™ 24 completely lyses, grinds and homogenizes a broad variety of biological samples. Even the most difficult and resistant samples are fully homogenized, often in 35 seconds or less.
The stainless steel tube carrier subjects up to 24 samples to an optimized, high speed, 3D motion, producing high energy impacts between the samples and micro-beads to release cellular contents. After homogenization, samples can be centrifuged and the supernatant collected for further processing.
Operating parameters for the BeadBlaster 24 are set and displayed digitally. To protect fragile, heat sensitive samples, the unit can be programmed to operate in shortened consecutive cycles with a rest period in between. Up to 50 such programs can be stored in memory and recalled for future use. A transparent lid allows for visualization of samples, and features a mechanical lid lock that prevents opening the lid when the BeadBlaster is in operation. A brushless motor reduces motor noise and provides maintenance free operation.

The BeadBug™ 3 is a high energy benchtop homogenizer that sets the performance standard for personal sized cell disruption and lysis instruments. Simultaneous homogenization of up to 3 samples takes place (often within 45 seconds) inside the disposable 2ml screw cap microtubes. The optimized mixing motion causes rapid cell disruption through constant high velocity impact from the hardened micro-beads chosen specifically for your sample type.
Developed for samples too tough to be homogenized in a common lab vortexer, the BeadBug 3 provides a convenient and economical alternative to the traditional, high capacity homogenizers on the market today. With up to three tube capacity and a footprint of just 7 x 8″, the BeadBug 3 is the ideal homogenizing instrument for low to medium throughput laboratories.
Specifications:
The BeadBlaster™ 24R is a highly efficient bead homogenizer with built in refrigeration to protect temperature sensitive molecules from heat degradation and denaturation.
Unlike most bead homogenizers, the BeadBlaster 24R has true, compressor-based refrigeration – no dry ice, no liquid nitrogen and no air supply needed. Simply set the desired temperature and precool the chamber. Temperature will be maintained throughout the homogenization process to keep samples cool.
The BeadBlaster 24R retains many of the features of our popular BeadBlaster 24. The stainless steel tube carrier subjects up to 24 samples to an optimized, high speed, 3D motion, producing high energy impacts between the samples and micro-beads to release cellular contents. Operating parameters are set and displayed digitally, while 50 profiles can be stored in memory and recalled for future use. A brushless motor reduces motor noise and provides maintenance free operation.
These 2ml tubes are prefilled with an appropriate amount of beads for bead homogenization. Tubes are ready to use – beads are acid washed and heat treated to remove contaminants and render them nuclease and protease free. Suitable for homogenization of bacteria, fungi, spores, molds and small yeasts. Supplied in packs of 50 tubes. Tubes are suitable for use in most bead homogenizers including the BeadBug 3, BeadBug 6 and BeadBlaster 24.
