AlumaSeal CS™ Sealing Films are specially formulated 50 um aluminum foil sealing films with a 50 um layer of acrylic adhesive that withstands cold storage at temperatures to -80°C. Unlike other sealing films in the AlumaSeal group, AlumaSeal CS sealing films are not recommended for PCR of themocycling. A single non-perforated end tab simplifies application. Simply hold the tab and strip the backing from the body of the sealing film as it lays on the plate to avoid curling. Dimensions are 82.6 by 132.6 mm, including the single 9.5 mm end tab. Recommended temperature range: -80 °C to +120 °C. AlumaSeal CS sealing films are certified DNase-, RNase, and nucleic-acid-free.
Easily pierceable, 70 um thick, polyethylene with acrylic adhesives, EZ-Pierce™ Sealing Films allow direct sample recovery with single or multichannel pipettors and robotic probes. Dimensions are 82.6 by 142.9mm for 96-well plates.
Excel Scientific’s SealPlate® ColorTab adhesive sealing films consist of 50 µm thickness clear polyester. They minimize evaporation, prevent spillage and contamination between wells, and provide a secure seal for ELISA, EIA, and similar assays. These unique sealing films include a color dot and white writing area on each end tab for plate ID labeling. End tabs with backing removed adhere to the ends of the plate and are perforated so they can be left in place to maintain plate identity even if the center portion of the sealing film is removed. Alternatively, one inscribed color-coded end tab can be removed and pasted in a laboratory notebook while the other remains on the plate for identification. Dimensions 79.4 by 146.1 mm for 96-well plates. Sealing films are supplied with five dot colors (green, lavender, orange, red, blue) in non-sterile single-color packs of 100 and in assorted packs of 50 containing five individual-color packs of 10, also non-sterile.

A 36 µm soft non-permeable aluminum foil sealing film with 28 µm layer of strong medical-grade acrylic adhesive, AlumasSeal II™ sealing films eliminate the need for heat-sealing devices or mats during thermal cycling. Compared to other aluminum foils, AlumaSeal II™ has less tendency to roll back on itself when removing the backing paper and conforms well to the plate during application.
SealPlate® 50 µm thickness polyester sealing films minimize evaporation, prevent spillage and contamination between wells, and provide a secure seal, not just a cover. Secure sealing of all wells eliminates "edge effects" in sensitive ELISA assays. SealPlate sealing films can also be used with tissue-culture plates for short-term storage, incubation, and containment of biohazards. SealPlate sealing films are non-pierceable. XTR films offer high performance under extreme conditions. A 2mil polyester film with a 1.65mil layer of strong acrylic adhesive. eXTReme Seal films remove cleanly from plate surfaces without adhesive stringing, residue, or contamination. Each sealing films measures 78.3 x 140.5mm and offers sufficient sealing area for all plate types (e.g., flat top and raised rim). Chamfered corners result in no plate overhang for robotics applications. Features two end-tabs with perforations. Length between perforations with end tabs removed is 119mm.
SealPlate® MiniStrips™ sealing films are identifcal to SealPlate films above, but designed for sealing only one or two 8-well rows at a time on either strip-well or standard plates whenever rows must be selectively protected or accessed. Each MiniStrips film is 19.0 x 102.9mm, including 2 positioning tabs. The long dimension iwth the tabs removed is 82.6mm. MiniStrips are supplied in sheets or four from which strips can be peeled individually or two-at a time for application to plates. Sterile product is packaged in 100 um tamper-evident bags of 50 sheets of 4 sealing film strips.
ThermalSeal RT™ sealing films combine an optically transparent polyester sealing film with a strong, ultra-smooth, non-absorbing, non-fluorescing medical-grade adhesive for superior performance in real-time PCR applications. In place of the customary paper backing, Thermal Seal RT™ sealing films have a plastic liner which is easily removed before use and contributes smoothness and extreme optical clarity to the adhesive.
ThermalSeal A™ sealing films are an advanced version of Excel Scientific's classic ThermalSeal® sealing films for PCR. Thermal Seal A films consist of 50 um polyester film with a 41 um layer of acrylic adhesive formulated for improved protection against evaporation and leakage during thermal cycling. Intended for non-real-time PCR applications, ThermalSeal A films are designed to fit inside the edge of raised-rim PCR plates and provide more secure sealing of all wells because the center of the film does not extend over the plate rim. Two end tabs allow for easy positioning of the film on the plate but are perforated for easy removal if necessary. Each film measures 77.8 x 135.5 mm overall. Length between perforations with end tabs removed is 118.1 mm. Each package of ThermalSeal A films includes one sealing paddle for ensuring a firm seal, also compatible with raised-rim plates.
These improved films for classic thermal cycling applications consist of a 50 um polyester film with a 41 um layer or acrylic adhesive. Compared to the original ThermalSeal® films, ThermalSeal 2 films offer better adhesion, reduced evaporation, longer end tabs for easier handling, and less tendency to tear during removal from the plate. Each sealing film measures 79.4 x 139.7 mm and offers sufficient sealing area for all PCR Plates. Length between the perforations with end tabs removed is 125.1mm. (Not recommended for raised-rim plates). ThermalSeal 2 sealing films are not pierceable. For applications where piercing with pipet tips or robotic probes is required for product recovery, see AlumaSeal sealing films.
A 38 um thick aluminum foil sealing film with 38 um layer of acrylic adhesive for use with 384-well plates. AlumaSeal 384™ sealing films had one end tab with no perforations. Pierceable and Non-Sterile. Sealing film dimensions are 137.3 mm x 82.5 mm (including single 13.5 mm end tab).
