MSI® Cameo Nylon Syringe Filter
Although it is designed for sterilization or clarification of aqueous and solvent samples in a wide variety of analytical and research applications, the Cameo Nylon syringe filter is primarily used to filter small aqueous and organic samples with low hold-up volume in order to inject them directly into the HPLC sample loop systems. Column protection is ensured by the filtered samples. The Nylon filter series uses the naturally hydrophobic Magna nylon membrane filter, which contains no wetting agents. The Magna nylon is prerinsed in methanol to completely eliminate any possible extractables; it yields a very low extractable level of less than 0.0015mg/cm2. It will resist temperatures up to 356°F (180°C). The3N filter features a housing made of pure nylon. The17N and30N housings are made of pure polypropylene. All three are highly temperature resistant, autoclavable, and compatible with most organic solvents, including acetone, methylene chloride and acetonitrile.
The25NS filter is a presterilized 25mm syringe filter that is ideal for sterilization or clarification of aqueous samples up to 100mL where low hold-up volumes and low extractables are critical. Excellent for filtering biological fluids, buffer solutions and sterile filtering of tissue culture media. Individually blister-packed. The modified acrylic housing of this filter is designed to support the membrane bidirectionally to allow sample injection or aspiration. These filters are sterilized by gamma radiation.
The 17N, 25NS and 30N filters are labeled with pore size and filter type. All filters are tested to verify filter and housing integrity.
